Friday Rambles

  • Today is the last day of school.  Bittersweet.  My babygirl is now a SENIOR?!?!?  What??  Huh??
  • I am glad the daily battle of getting her out of bed is over for a few weeks.  I don't blame her, she's not a difficult kid, she just really is exhausted most of the time.  I hope this summer we get on the right track of medication/treatment so her SR year is a better year for her.
  • Yesterday morning as I sat on my sofa I could see the young man who has been "bothering" us walking up and down the road.  I am so super sensitive lately (who can blame me though, right?) that I noted the time and the activity (really?  is that overkill??) -- I have no idea when he started b/c I didn't sit down until 6:24 but I saw him walking north and just a minute later going back south with a box on his shoulder.  He made 3 trips and I *think* maybe he is moving in with the other young man who lives south of me?  I live in the middle and one of the young men live one house SOUTH of me and the other lives one house NORTH of me.  I'm hoping that IF they are living together now the back and forth traffic will END and if they are ever in my yard again (day or night) there will be no doubt they are up to no good.
  • My sister-in-law (one of dh's brother's wives) was hospitalized yesterday.  She went to the dr with back pain (been going on for a while now) and they thought it was disc related and sent her for x-rays.  What they saw led them to send her for an MRI (I believe -- when emotions are high things get confused and if I find out I am wrong on any facts, I will clarify).  The MRI findings had her sent to an oncologist immediately (yes, all of this in ONE day) and he admitted her.  I'm sad.  Her middle son graduates tonight and even though her current battle is larger than THAT I know that if she cannot be there her heart will be BROKEN.  As of now they are saying a tumor in her lower back (spine area I think) and spots in her breast and chest area ..... prayers for this family if you please. Edited to add:  They've determined (so far) that the chest area is the biggest problem.  Today they will do a biopsy to determine how bad/aggressive it all is.
  • I've been doing some major stress eating the last month and ... uh ... it is SHOWING ..... time to get my act together and think of my own health!!
