Forgive if any of this is a repeat .... LOL.
First, boychild turned 20 on Mother's Day :-D It doesn't seem possible he is that old .... and it seems odd for me to consider that anything close to "old" but wow, when I was that age, I was married to my high school sweetheart and about to find out I was having my first child.
He is the child who "made" me a mother ... so isn't it fitting I brought him home from the hospital ON Mother's Day? My first.
I'm glad he's choosing a different path than his father and I at his age. Not that I am saying I have regrets, because really --I do not. That doesn't mean I am not "glad" boychild has chosen differently. Very few are ready for marriage at the age I was when I married. Looking back now, I know I wasn't.
The decision led to two great kids and for the most part -- happiness over all. That being said, I can't help but wonder where we'd be today if we had waited a year or two ... or five .....
Boychild is working on his career and his credit .... building "himself" before he builds a family. I'm glad of that. I'm proud of him. He's a good "kid". I'm blessed.
The night before his birthday was girlchild's JR Prom. Man, did she look beautiful. She was so very happy. She loved her dress, her make-up (she wanted bright and got it, lol), shoes, nails ... the works. She felt beautiful, that makes me happy. She had a great time.
She hasn't been feeling good again -- back to being really tired (and omg, grouchy) and sleeping a lot.
Her eye has been painful again as well - sharp pains and throbbing aches she says.
She went back to the eye dr and she said that it appears girlchild cannot be w/o her eye drops right now ... that she needs to be weaned off of them more slowly. So she is back on them for 2 weeks and goes for a follow-up to check the pressure/iflammation levels. If they are good she will, again, try to go w/o them.
Hopefully by then her new oral medications will have kicked in.
Her newest blood tests came back good. :-) But her RA feels that her original tests (new tests were different kinds of panels) were so significant, in particuar her ANA, that she needs to be on the medication and monitored. He said that with the ANA, anemia, eye inflammation, arthritis, etc ... it is clear "something" is going on but that it generally takes a while to dx the correct AI issue.
So --- we wait.
